Usually on dating websites you let a person know you are interested using their system. If they find that they are attracted to you then they will let you know that they are interested. Once that is settled then you are free to contact them usually by messaging them or emailing them.

Many dating websites have their own form on instant messaging to use. This makes it easy to talk in real time without actually having to call them. It makes things more personal than a normal email but less intrusive than an actual phone call or a date. Once you have communicated this way for several days you will feel more comfortable to move to the next level.

The next level is usually talking on the phone and having phone conversations. These conversations usually last for a few weeks to a few months, depending on the people that are involved. It is really up to the people who are interested in one another. After all the messaging and phone calls then one person will usually suggest meeting in person. Meeting in person for the first time can be nerve wracking but since you have been communicating for so long it should be a lot less stressful and more exciting than a normal first date would be.

When dating websites work the way they have been for most people, they are worth a try. Trying these websites with an open mind can really help your self esteem and also improve your love life.
